I am having the time of my life!
Published on March 27, 2004 By Larry Kuperman In Blogging
I blogged a lot this week. This is the 6th or 7th post for me, a one week personal record. A couple of Humor posts (is there going to be a sub-category of Humor>Bad Jokes just for me?), a couple on world events and some of the usual miscellaneous maunderings. I am thrilled that I could post them all on the same site. I felt good when I wrote them and even better when I read some of the responses. To tell you the truth, I feel loved. WAIT! I mean that in a manly, macho kind of way.

For me, JoeUser has come to satisfy a need that I didn't even know that I had. The community here is, for me at least, warm and accepting. At the risk of looking like I am posting reviews on the back of a paperback book, let me illustrate by example.

On my "Och, aye-- Elvis?" post Snowman replied "HAHAHAA Good one Koop!! Just what ouy need on a cold morning - a good laugh!" Thank you, Snowman. It was intended to be funny, maybe silly, in a "not-mean" way. Too much humor today seems to come at someone else's expense.

On my "Al Qaeda's Plan For Spain" post, a more serious post as you can judge from the title, Sherye Hansen wrote "Larry, please write more articles. You are a very good writer." Sherye, you are WAY too kind. For those of you not regulars here, I would say that Sherye and I disagree about half the time. Of course, Sherye may disagree with that. (Sorry, I couldn't resist saying that!) But that is an example on the kind of community that exists at JoeUser. Thank you, Sherye!

Recently, I saw that GemCityJoe had "nominated" me twice for Joe User Awards. GCJ, you made me feel like a winner before the voting ever started!

Now, I have to confess that I never blogged before JoeUser opened. But the site is easy to use, in fact it keeps getting easier, there is usually somethng new and interesting to read and folks here are in general pretty accepting. Oh, yeah, there is the occasional spat, but those just serve to liven things up. IMHO.

Its hard to believe that this site is less than a year old. It really has been a good experience so far. Okay, now I need to get back to work!

Yeah, it's always fun reading one of your posts Larry, you're an optimistic/energetic guy and a good writer, which really shows in what you write. Plus you're just a cool guy.

Now, blog more, because I know where you work, and will hunt you down if you don't.
